Psc 1510xi Drivers For Mac
Can you give me a little more details on how you got the PSC-2510 working with Leopard? I can't get it to work.
You said to delete Folder 'Printers' on the HD where is this location. You said to delete Folder 'Receipts' on the HD where is this location.
What version of the HP software are you using, the latest I found was 7.9 from HP's web site. When you installed Leopard did you upgrade or fresh install and did you select to install printer drivers? What system are you using PPC or Intel Mac?

I can't even get the printer software to install it stops at copying files 23, this is using version 7.9. Message was edited by: Marshall Burke. 1.printers folder is located on the hard drive-library-printers 2.reiceipts folder is located same-library-reiceipts 3.i have used the same software 7.9 from hp website 4.i did an upgrade to leopard and had installed the drivers, but deleted them later(see 1) 5.i use a macbook So first remove the printers folder, then the drivers manually one by one from the receipts folder, then remove the hp software. After this i deselected the hp in the printer preferences and then install the hp software again. And then it should work.
Check in the printer preferences your printer, i had first the hp fax in there. Remove it and select the printer and thats it.
I have done it on 2 macbooks and both are working now properly. I have lost the use of my PSC 2510 after my upgrade to 10.5. After the upgrade, there were no printers installed.
I was able to install my IP printer at the office with no trouble, but when I got home to install my PSC 2510, I found the driver was not included with the OS, and that the ver 7.9 of the installer would not run on my computer. I poked around on the web, and found that there is an issue with ' case sensitive file systems' with the HP installer. As far as I know, I am running HFS+. I went into the 7.9 installer package, and tried to install all the individual files, but still, I can't see the 2510 as an option when I try to add printer. Any advice as to how to proceed? I am curious as to why you can run the installer, but it basically hangs up when I try to do it on a very similar computer. I'm having the same problem with my 1510 after getting a new MacBook Pro with Leopard.
It worked fine with my iBook G4 running Tiger. When I originally started using my new computer, I could print but not scan.
According to the OS X 10.5 page on the HP support site, they have not updated the Image Zone software for 10.5, and they only hint that the older software will work on Leopard. I tried installing ImageZone, and now all of my apps crash if I try to print. So, I uninstalled the HP software and now I can't find a Leopard driver for the machine at all.
HP thinks there is a 'custom' install on the Leopard CD where you can find the driver, but I can't find it. Guess they couldn't bother to also add it to their own Web site. My printer is only just two years old - ridiculous that they seem to quit supporting any product model after it's been around for two years.
What's even more annoying is that it suddenly started complaining about some kind of problem after every print job, meaning I have to reset it each time I print something. Terrible craftsmanship that it doesn't last but two years. I'm this close to replacing this system with an Epson. I had to call HP support for another matter, and they pretty much made it clear that they don't really strive to support Mac users. They wanted to charge me to speak to a Mac specialist, and they don't train their online chat reps to support Mac. If I had a PC, free online support. MINE WORKS FINE NOW, TOO!
I followed the advice of wavethree: I manually installed the HP drivers from the Leopard disk, then went to the HP site and downloaded the HP Image Zone software for 'Mac OS10.2.8 and later', installed it, then shut down my computer and printer. When I started everything back up, there was an IZ Image Zone icon in my dock.
I started to scan by pushing the scan button on the printer, but no software launched. So I manually launched the IZ software and selected 'Devices' from the three buttons on top. There's an option to scan. I pressed it and the program 'HP Scan' launched. I successfully scanned my document. So I guess I have to manually launch the scan software but at least it works!
I don't know how many of these steps were needed (e.g. Shutting down) but now it works.
I also tested the printing function to make sure I didn't lose that, and it works normally with Cmd-P. Hope this helps! Apple Footer. This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.
