Quickbooks 2006 For Mac
Gofigger, Great minds think alike! At approx the same time today I opened Quickbooks after not using it. It updated and then 'WHAM' my desktop and all the files I had been saving were gone. Tried repairing permissions and tried using Main Menu freeware but nothing. Timer app for mac. I have to believe that it is QB that is the problem now that I read your post. Hopefully my info is still somewhere on my puter. Don't have TM hooked up yet and my previous backup is about a month old.
My disk space is the same so maybe everything is still here. But the desktop file is owned by whoever logs in, even if he is just regular user, and not an admin. Terminal commands may have be written to protect you from changing the desktop, but there are underlying APIs that don't.
