E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy is definitely an aquired taste lol I dont know what to compare this to. It's a loosey goosey (not exactly buggy but not all that finalized) FPS that has all these weird and original ideas in it. Maybe you just have to be bent to like a game like this but there is enough in it that made it both fun to play and a unique and memorable experience. The way this game starts and ends is maybe one of the best i've seen. It really made me think about what i just experienced anyway. (IF you actually play it for a while chances are you will be like me and get hooked on it) i'll warn you straight up. The story makes NO sense really and you are really stumbling to interpret this loose french narrative, but by the end of the game, it starts to become more clear, it's SO WEIRD how this story pulled me in.

I am shocked i made it to the end. Not only did i do that, but this was one of the few games i really. I am shocked i made it to the end. Not only did i do that, but this was one of the few games i really was determined to complete every nook and cranny and effing secret in it because i became so fascinated by it and did three playthroughs of it. Must be the illuminati!:winks: a fun game to talk about and discuss or google forum interpretations of it when you finish (if you do) I'm not the only one out there. The music in this is astounding. It's really good dark anime type sounding neo tokyo type of atmoshpere. Taht complements the maps so darn well. So, there are a lot of things done right.

The maps themselves are really pretty good. Static UT style levels with not too much detail but they feel right. Good atmosphere. Grungy cities and areas. As you slog through them you always check over your shoulders while crossing the street to see if you are being followed. The experience carries it's own sense of presence and believability.

The world is interesting. You are like some kind of cyborg ninja unatco type intelligence outfit who does what they want hassan i sabbah style from their sweet floating shangri-la temple from the year 4 million (i'm not exactly embellish how weird the game is). It's some far offf japananesey dystopian future inspired by i dont know what.

Reminds me a bit of warhammer 40k in some ways. Supposedly the guys who made this game based it off some RPG they made and played themselves long ago. That sounds about right: ' These guys dont care if you dont like their shit game. They like it.

They play it. They thought they'd let you play it too.' I am amazed to see this PC title in a place like walmart (where i got it) really cool guns. Gee willickers.

This game has some cool gun ideas. You like Rick Deckards gun from blade runner? I think this game has 2 maybe THREE guns that look at feel like That Gun. But my favorite is a futuristic mac 10 with a nitrous oxide switch to make it go faster. There are also swords.

You can do combos of diff weapons too, like two glock 18 styled weapons, mix it up with a sword, or just go two handed melee. You have a backpack with 'sized slots as your limiting factor. The actual gameplay is weird. Imagine a big map full of respawning bots with atrocious AI.

Desktop task timer for mac. Easy to configure, simple to use, and reports are easy to generate. Author is responsive to user comments and updates keep making a GREAT product better.

Endless waves of enemies as you crawl through the dystopian streets busting them up and slowly levelling up. It has a weird kind of zen buddhist type of impermancen feel to it, all enhanced by the mimimal brooding soundtrack. If you are just looking to blow some steam, this game is very relaxing and absorbing. It's not a traditional clear a level and get to the end FPS.

If you want you can just play a game map indefinitely fighting weak enemies at your leisure. I think i spent about 4 hours in the first map before realizing the enemies werent going to stop.

(spoiler) when you beat this game, the ending makes the whole game suddenly make more sense. It was all a dream. Thats' why the enemies are nonstop, and why some of those later enemies were so rediculous.

That's not cheap. The RPG element is hatchet job and weird, but it works okay in a shooter. You can spend your 'points' on various things: gear unlocks, augments, or stats' it's anything but balanced. But if you screw up, you can cheat/hack for more points if you wish. (i cant remember how i managed to do it, but i stumbled across a way to get unlimited points) I'm a minority.

There is only going to be a small audience of people could appreciate a game like this but those who do will love it. If you like the weirdness of the 40k setting, the feel of deus ex, the hokiness of a game like serious sam with tons of fodder-like minions this might be your bag. I had kept an install of UT99 on my computer for 'stress time' and this game replaced it due to the way the bot waves work in it. Go ahead and shoot me for the fact this game left more of an impression on me than DX HR.

I actually played them around the same time and got into this one way more.
